A sneaky word. It exudes endless amount of excitement with a hint of guilt and misery at the end. It is akin to the sweetness of chocolate with a bitter after taste. You want to have it. Taste it. Lick it to its core. YET, you also do know that you might or will (depending on the gravity of the situation) feel guilty afterwards when you’re done (let’s pretend you have diabetes). The thought lingers in your mind like a fly that refuses to die. What will you do? Smack the sneaky bug? Or let it live and terrorize you? Should you or should you not grab that cunning chocolate?

<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" Apparently the charging duct (Is that the term?) has malfunction somewhat. I could repair it for RM 40 OR buy a universal charger for just RM 10. Of course I went with the latter. So, I bought it. Tried it out and - nothing happened. The light was not blinking which means it wasn't charging. I tried putting the battery in different ways that I could think of. There were no instructions included in the box so I tried being creative. Hm. Yup, apparently I'm not that creative. So after 2 hours, a thought finally hit me. Google! and yup sure thing there was a video for 'How to Use a Universal Battery Charger'. Ah... the Internet is indeed wonderful.

More DIY videos at 5min.com

Rumputhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09048784280661660106noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2224066507176187569.post-19882832640367252502010-07-15T00:00:00.003+08:002010-07-15T00:05:31.339+08:00CurrentI'm just hating PTPTN's website at the moment. Nah, I wasn't cut off actually. It's sheer laziness. I have a couple of stuff in my head but as I said, I'm damn lazy. And I haven't been reading blogs too...My,my, my how lazy can I get? So if you folks feel like scrapping my link from your blogs feel free to do so. You don't even have to inform me beforehand. I don't mind. I'm still thinking whether or not to keep this blog. I once see it as a platform to hone my writing skills but since I've found that my skills are non-existance, perhaps I should just terminate it. So feel free to scrape me while I ponder this situation.Rumputhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09048784280661660106noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2224066507176187569.post-37600070762980346872009-10-17T23:57:00.002+08:002009-10-18T01:11:58.467+08:00Back and ForthThey say memories of your past would flash through your eyes as those very same eyes slowly close signaling the end of your time on this lovely earth. Ironic isn't it? Now, I have no intention of waiting for 'that' day to come just so that I could have a glimpse of what I have done all of my life, which is why I think of the past (and the future of course) whenever I can. And besides, I don't think I would even have a chance to reflect on my past if, let say, I die by way of getting hit by a bus. Don't think there would be time for any 'reflection session'.

Nowadays, my thoughts on the past and future is mostly balanced I think. Inspiration can be gained from traveling back and forth these two places. Sometimes you more than that. You get a good laugh at yourself thinking of the things that you've done or the things that you might do. You do a little bit of fortune telling for yourself. Ha ha. Nothing wrong with a little bit of imagination ;)

The past would always be there to remind you and to teach you. The future? Well, it excites you as you have no idea what on earth you'll be getting yourself into. At least that's what I think. My mother asked me today how long will it be before I finished uni. ' A year and a half... And I feel like I don't know anything,' I said. She laughed her heart-out, a trademark of hers. 'That's a very good answer,' Ha ha. Well, yes, I do feel clueless sometimes. I feel like I haven't learned anything. But as I look back through my 20 years of living, I think I have learned and gained something. It's probably not much but at least there's something. Wonder what the future has in store for me. Time to get the crystal ball out again.Rumputhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09048784280661660106noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2224066507176187569.post-35746781900405257982009-09-20T21:25:00.005+08:002009-09-20T22:01:59.654+08:00Hibernation
<img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; They were dressed in casual clothing although one of them looked like she was in her pajamas and my what a vibrant pajamas it was. Attires aside, they quickly got down to business. One of them (possibly the leader of the 3) fished out something from her Hawaiian shorts. It was a little object that spitted out an equally little fire. Then she took out a bunch of thin looking sticks. The origin of the sticks is unclear but sources say that they were purchased from a small bazaar near the cheapest hypermarket.

What happened next was horrible. The head honcho burned the ends of the sticks and after 3 seconds or more, sparks started to form, lighting their evil faces. The subject was 'Why Milo did well in Malaysia but not in China?' The Chinese preffers Ovaltine compared to our all time favourite drink. Why is that? Apparently, it's because Milo is associated with sports and sports in China is not something that they look higly upon.

'Mothers in China want their kids to go to the best schools and succeed in life. Sports is an alternative to those who are not doing so well (to put it nicely)' my lecturer said.

Ovaltine in China is marketed as 'brain food' which is why Chinese mothers buy Ovaltine. Besides, a little bit of 'showing off' or to put it in a more milder language, 'flashing of remarkable qualities or skills to the whole world' is much, much needed if you want to survive in this troubling and competitive era. Otherwise, you'll be irrelevant and would be relegated to the background along with those who are deemed erm... normal and you would soon be forgotten because well, there's nothing special about you. In other words, you don't stand out. (Ah, I remind me of myself). Which is why I don't see anything wrong with limelight seeking (I love how it sounds. Don't you? :P). In fact, I respect them as they have the gutts to say 'You know what?I can do this' and they actually proove it. It's those who boast about something utterly minuscule or something that they actually know nothing about that I laugh at. But isn't it possible that these boasters' real intention is actually a harmless one? Perhaps they just want to share information. Let's study the case below.

My friend and I were told to meet our lecturer to discuss about an extra subject that we were suppose to take. He briefly eplained to us the nature of the subject as well as the necessary assignments that we were suppose to do. Before we ended our short 'meeting' he told us that his class is a small one and that it mainly consists of VIP's offsprings. An interesting point no doubt but highly irrelevant.

I very much enjoyed his first class and was quite impressed with his teaching style until a point came when he said that he does not practise favouritism. 'Anak Datuk ke anak menteri ke.. Semua saya layan sama saja'. Again, he mentioned about the anak-anak VIP but I just brush it off thinking that he meant well. After all, pilih kasih is never good. Good for you sir, I thought.

During the second class, we somehow arrived at the topic of politics during our discussion. As if on cue, he said with a huge grin on his face 'Tapi ni politik... so tak nak la cakap kan'. O... so someone in the class hails from a political family la... Again I brushed it off. I did wonder who but being slightly nyanyuk, I soon forget.

Finally, a week after the 2nd class, my lecturer could not control his excitement longer and decided to 'come clean' with us. I can't remember how the conversation started but it went something like this, 'Anak Datuk tapi tak tulis pon 'Datuk'(title) kat nama bapak dia' as he lifted the attendance list from his table. He paused and scanned the room. Perhaps he had hoped that it would give a dramatic effect. I don't know what the others' reaction were as I was busy staring blankly at him. An then he told us. 'Ooo... ' My friend and I said in unison. 'Patut la pandai' I thought. Haha.

The guy is very well-read. He talks passionately and eloquently, a trait I suspect inherited from his very infamous father. He takes after his mother in the looks department though, which is not necessarily a bad thing as I'm not sure how he would fair if he takes after the father. He's not handsome but decent looking, fair- skinned. Sejuk jugak la mata memandang kot. I was practically amazed that this person knew so much. My friend was already smitten by him during the first class. I mean, who doesn't like smart guys la?

So, finally we knew who is this person that got my lecturer into a frenzy. While it can't be said whether his intention was to just share information or for a litle bit of limelight seeking(he did also mention about a call that he had made to another offspring of a VIP whose name I have forgotten), I would prefer to just think of it as the former. After all, it's never apropriate to think badly of others, no? Not without a good and concrete reason that is. :PRumputhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09048784280661660106noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2224066507176187569.post-49623499277653676402009-07-12T08:13:00.004+08:002009-07-12T08:44:12.954+08:00Laughter is the best MedicineI would just like to share a somewhat dirty yet hilarious joke told by a friend of mine who was hospitalized. If you're not fond of diry jokes I suggest you ignore this post. ;)

A guy was about to get married so he asked his uncle 'tips' for his first night. 'Rendam kau punya ehem dalam teh... It'll make your wife SCREAM,' the uncle said and so they guy did for a couple of days before his wedding. After the kenduri, the uncle decided to spend the night at the rumah kenduri. Suddenly, he heard a woman scream. 'Yes! Berjaya apa yang aku ajar'. He was feeling pleased with himself when his nephew came down with a terrible look on his face. The uncle asked what had happened. The nephew replied, 'Panjang tu memang la panjang tapi kenapa jadi kurus macam pensel?' Dumbfounded the uncle asked, 'Kau pakai teh apa?' 'Slimming Tea'.

MWAHAHA... Ya Allah.. Crazy joke I tell you. Habis tu nak pakai apa? BOH? Lipton? Aiyo... Beb...Bukan main ko. Sakit-sakit pon macam-macam ko mengarut. She actually told a few more but this one is the best out of the bunch. Haha. I'm just glad to see that she's still her usual self despite the whole face mask and purple patient attire and not to mention the pain that she's going through. Visitors were asked to wear masks so it really looked like a scene ftom a medical drama. Hopefully, she can get her operation done as soon as possible (It was postponed) but until that time, keep on laughing. Laughter is the best medicine, no? Let's all pray for her speedy recovery.Rumputhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09048784280661660106noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2224066507176187569.post-11072561344311482002009-07-09T08:42:00.002+08:002009-07-09T08:51:49.233+08:00Skates & ArrowsIt's been about 7 to 8 years since I last skate and thank god I still can although not as fast as I used to. I feel - empty. I don't know why. These past few days have been rather unfulfilling. I don't know whether it's due to the mundane activities that I've been doing since the start of the holidays or because of something else. I just feel unmotivated. I'm sure all of you are no stranger to this little odd feeling. I'm no stranger to it myself. My first encounter with it was during high school if, I'm not mistaken. I don't think I even understand how emptiness is suppose to feel like when I was in primary school.

Anyway, I was in Form 5(Betanians I miss you... that includes 4 Betanians). One fine day, out of the blue, I felt empty. I have no idea why. I don't think it was boredom because boredom and emptiness are two very different things. Without thinking, I asked my friend who was sitting beside me 'Kau pernah rasa kosong tak?'. The friend, who also happens to be the monitor replied 'Mesti lah pernah,' and that was it. Clearly the story book that she was reading was much, much more interesting than my question. Why woudn't it be when it had the title '6 Reasons to Stay a Virgin'. Pretty catchy isn't it? But the story was not great anyway. I only liked the cover of the book.

I just brushed the whole thing of after that very insightful thought from Miss Monitor ;) . I suppose I did give some thought to it but not much. SPM was more important, no? So it ended there. I entered college the following year and I must say I was happy. I was happy with how things are going - my classes, friends, just about everything of my life although there are a few glitches here and there. I thought I was fine until recently jeng, jeng, jeng... 'it' came back. That weird little feeling. What? Why? How? I asked but I couldn't find the answer. I suppose I haven't prayed hard enough. That reminds me of a character named Rosa from the 1995 movie Sabrina (not Sabrina the teenage witch). Rosa was one of the maids to the wealthy Larrabees. There was this scene where all the maids where congregating in the kitchen. The chauffeur's daughter, Sabrina, had sent a letter from Paris and so the chauffeur was reading it to them. Everyone was certain that Sabrina was unhappy, living all alone in Paris. At one point, Rosa was relating her story of how she felt when she first arrived in America:

'Mr. Tom, maybe is not for me to put my hands in on this, but when I first come to this country, I am alone, like Sabrina. I just weigh more. So I ask to God why I am here. I say, "Why God?" but there is no answer. So I stop crying. It takes eleven years!'

Haha. This movie really has some of the most funny and witty lines. I don't know how many times I've watched it. And so, yes, I still haven't found the answer. I sure hope it won't take 11 years but if it does, than there's nothing I can do. In the mean time, I shall continue 'filling' this particular 'hole' by watching movies. (Unless interesting suggestions pop up. Anyone?) I've recently watched Sylvia, a depressing but insightful movie nevertheless, starring Gwyneth Paltrow and the lovely Daniel Craig although he looks awful in this one. It's the hair I tell you. And I also had the opportunity of watching Drag me to Hell which was more hillarious than hellish. Seriously, don't watch it. It was so crappy that it made me laugh and I was the only one laughing in the cinema. I was waiting to get scared for God's sake! I should've trusted the reviewers and watched Transformers again with my family. Or maybe The Third House on the Left. Read that it was good in The Star.

Rumputhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09048784280661660106noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2224066507176187569.post-40358014549403725662009-07-01T16:39:00.003+08:002009-07-01T16:49:50.888+08:00Ultimate BlanknessA dark cloud has descended upon me
Sending me into a state of ultimate blankness

So here I lay waiting and
Hoping to regain consciousnessRumputhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09048784280661660106noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2224066507176187569.post-90012396099033705802009-06-20T22:03:00.004+08:002009-06-20T23:33:56.688+08:00The Reason'Why do u smoke?,' the girl asked as she watched the newly transformed dude she had previously met a few days ago plopped himself hard on the grass. She remained on the bench. His new image fitted him perfectly. He looks cool now as opposed to, well, nerdy.

'Smoking, makes me calm,' the dude said as he took out a cigarette and lights it. Dunhill. The girl made a mental note of the dude's brand preference. Observing people's interests is a habit of hers.

'I'm always thinking - when I'm talking, when I'm drawing,- even when I'm praying. Smoking relaxes me a bit'. He took a puff and paused probably enjoying the effect the nicotine is doing to his body. 'Do tell me if the smoke annoys you' he said as he slowly relaxes into a sleeping position.

'Nah, it's okay. I'm used to it. You think too much,' she smiled. 'You need to stop smoking you know' she continued. He stared blankly at her. 'I need a reason to'. She burst out laughing.

'How can you be so happy all the time?' The girl laughed again, bewildered by his remark. What the hell? You have no idea what I've been through.

'Dude, I'm not happy all the time. You know what's going on - '

'Ya, but I mean like right now - You're like the only girl that laughs at my jokes and well, basically everything that I said.'

'Haha... Well, I laugh a lot. I guess I'm a very optimistic person'. He gave a half-hearted nod.

'Teach me how not to think so much'

Haha. Absurd. 'Well, (she shrugged) you just got to know when to turn it on and when to turn it off'.

'Ah...I see.So why dont' you have a boyfriend?' He smiled, finally. That question completely caught her off guard but she let out a harty laugh nevertheless.

'Because nobody wants me'

'Oh come on-'

'No, I'm serious. Nobody wants me,'

' What if I say I want you?'

'What the hell? You're desperate for a girlfriend aren't you? Why do you even need a girlfriend?

'I told you remember? So that I have someone to fall back. Who will be there for me -

'Ya, but can't your friends do that?'

'Nah, you see - (he got up and sat beside her) Okay, let's take smoking for example. I have a family right? (she nodded) So they would of course try to stop me, but they would eventually stop trying to. There will be a time where they just give up. And, friends. Yes, they will try to stop me and they will be there for me but they won't always be there and they too, will stop telling me not to do things. And besides, they have their own problems-' He came to an abrupt stop. His left hand reached down into his left jeans pocket for his handphone. A message. He thought and after making a quick glance at the screen for the name of sender, he quickly stuff it back in.

He proceeded.'So that's family and friends. They will stop telling you what to do. So, who do you think will not stop?' A smile crept on the girl's face. The answer was obvious. 'Your partner...or your spouse,' he said without waiting for her reply. 'Do you think your partner would just calmly watch you smoke? No right?' He paused, reflecting what he'd just said. 'So that's why I need someone. I need a reason to do things', he took out another cigarette. She sighed. 'Stop that' she said, eyeing dissaprovingly at the cigarette in between his fingers. He smiled. That's what I needed. Although the stress hasn't got to me I knew that it's slowly brewing somewhere in my head. Better let it out before it takes hold of me and I explode. Internal management at the pre-crisis stage.

Instead of going home on that day, I hopped on to the bus to IOI accompanied by another friend who is equally stress if not more. We both needed to clear our heads. Sometimes I think we, humans just worry too much. Unnecessary worrying is never good for the mind and soul.

As we disembarked from the bus, her bus to UO stopped directly behind our bus. I automatically bid her goodbye. A tiny look of concern dawn upon her face as the thought of living me alone to venture on this escapism hit her. I did not have to do much to convince her that I will be okay wandering around all by myself, because the minute I said that I'll be fine she had dashed for the bus. Ever the lipas kudung.

So there I was. Alone in a huge mall. How dreadful. Nah, I was fine. I love exploring alone actually. Of course having a companion or two or more would be nice but sometimes you need to have time for yourself - 'Me Time'.

If you plan to spend your 'Me Time' without any disturbance, it is highly recommended that you keep away from any beauty store especially the ones that have no customers. I made the mistake of stepping into one of the stores and have suffered the consequences.

I went to Stila on the pretext of just 'looking around'. After a mere 2 seconds of stepping into the store, the store attendant who was obviously busy at the time of my entrance quickly made her way to me. I knew she was busy for a grain of white rice was visible on her upper lip which was decked in a a shade of pink. I could not determine however if it was Stila's lipstick as I am not accustom to the world of cosmetics. Apparently, the not so young lady was in the midst of having dinner. Ah, poor her. But all traces of sympathy started to evade after a few minutes into our conversation. She gave me an inquiring look.

' I'm just looking around,' I said with a smile and proceeded to stare blankly at the array of foundations available on the counter. None of them make sense to me.

' Are you looking for foundation?'
'No, I'm just looking around,' clearly she was deaf.

'What about lipstick?,' she persisted as she randomly picked a lipstick and started making markings on my hand. ' Lipstick you must try first on your hand so you can see the colour,'
O-kkkay... I thought as she continued to mark my right hand with shades of pink and purple. She looked like she was enjoying herself so I dare not tell her to stop.

Once satisfied with her work of art, she looked up, expecting me to say something. Once again I repeated 'I'll just look around'. I did one round of inspection of the store (ah perfumes..fake eyelashes..) before dashing out albeit in a civilized and casual manner. Ah...Freedom.

The rest of my 'Me Time' was spent at the clothing stores. In and out I went, feeling the fabrics, and scrutinizing garments which are hanged on the many hangers. The folded ones I dare not touch. The poor sales attendant would have to fold them again. I finally, entered Nichi. Nichi is probably my favourite store only because they have wonderful dresses at affordable prices. However, according to a friend who obviously has more knowledge regarding fashion, Nichi's prices differs from one store to the other. Which simply means that if the garment being sold at IOI is cheap, it won't be cheap at Pavilion. Here I quote the knowledgeable friend 'Gila discriminate kot...' Indeed. Note to self: Shop at cikai places.

Camwhoring is an integral part of my life now thanks to my very first camera phone which was given by my mother after SPM. Since then, I've discovered the wonders of photography. I take pictures of anything that tickles my fancy and apparently I, myself, have also become the object of my own admiration. Funny. I have never seen myself as a narcissist. Hmm... Anyway, so I did surreptitiously camwhored in the dressing room.

Once satisfied with the pictures, I left with no purchases in tow. Even though I absolutely love the dress, there is no logical explanation for me to purchase it for I have no reason to wear it. Wearing it to class would be to - how shall I put it? Overdress, perhaps? My daily wardrobe basically consists of jeans and t-shirts. Occasionally, I would throw in a bright blouse or anything that's a little bit fancy. Wearing that dress for outings or dinners would be great but unfortunately my social life is restricted to just the confinements of my home. So, I shall admire that dress (and myself haha) from the pictures that I've taken.

I had dinner at Old Town, where I finally tried the Hazelnut coffee. Not bad. Not bad, indeed. I shall try the other beverages on my next visit. I plan to try everything that is available on the menu if possible. Experimenting is a great way of spending your free time.

All and all, I have had a very relaxing day. Not once did my mind think of anything that is related to my life. Even though it was only for 2 hours, it was indeed beneficial. Crisis curbed.Rumputhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09048784280661660106noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2224066507176187569.post-87290334264024134902009-04-30T23:01:00.003+08:002009-05-24T00:51:51.342+08:00Tested!

Just nice.
