Sex and the Public

What a way to start the new year for us Malaysians. Besides the usual live telecast of new year concerts on tv, we were treated to an exclusive show. The plot, like all other movies goes like this: Man meets Woman. Man and Woman enters a hotel and I don't have to tell you what happens next because you very well know what will happen next thanks to all the movies(And I'm not just talking about Hollywood movies here) that you've watched and perhaps from your very own encounters with this similar situation (ehem) as well. The only difference between these two shows is that unlike those big budget movies, this particular show which was distributed in the form of DVDs a few days ago has a notable political figure in it.

Then came the shocking part. Well, I don't know about it you but I was rather shocked. In big bold black letters were the words 'It's me' on The Star newspaper's front page with a huge picture of Datuk Dr Chua Soi Lek underneath those words. The first thing that struck my mind was the Red Guy. If you're a cartoon buff such as myself you will understand why the pantless devil character came to my mind. You know how he always say 'It's me' with that big grin of his everytime he appears on the show? Yep, that was the first thing that came to my mind and I will not be surprised if you had thought of the same thing.

Alright, jokes aside. Let's all be serious now. According to Datuk Dr Chua, his resignation was due to the fact that Malaysians could not accept his apology, and that they were having this 'hollier than thou' attitude. Clever words by a clever man.I simply love that line. I couldn't agree more with what he'd said. I mean I couldn't care less with his personal life and for everyone else for that matter well, except for celebraties maybe...Blame it on the tabloids! Who he goes out with, how much that diamond ring he bought for his wife costs(If he ever did..well of course he must have..He is a Datuk) is totally not our business. What matters is what he's doing and what he has done for the country. And come on, you can't possibly believe that every single one of those politicians practise 'clean' politics. Besides, we have many more serious issues to tackle, one of them being corruption which has plagued the entire world since the creation of mankind. Yes, exaggerating is one of my specialties.

But, as everyone knows, all public figures are cursed for life. Not only are their lives exposed for public consumption but they also have this huge responsible towards the public to always behave or risk being 'babab' by the public(Imagine your moms voice for this in order to get the desirable effect.Haha).
